Commemoration Day of the Holy Martyrs of the Armenian Genocide (1915)
On April 24, a heartfelt memorial evening was held at the Khachkar in Riga, organized by Armenian Unity in honor of the victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915.
The attendees honored the memory of the innocent victims with candles, flowers, and a moment of silence. The atmosphere was filled with pain, dignity, and unity.
The event's emotional depth was especially enriched by performances from Armenian musicians and singers — Tigran Tumanyan, Elena Yesayan, Lilit Yedigaryan, Asmik Bagoyan, Araksi Avetisyan — as well as the Anush dance ensemble and the Armenian Sunday School named after Ghazaros Aghayan, who presented a traditional Armenian dance. Through music and art, we expressed our sorrow and, at the same time, our strength and resilience as a people.
Touching speeches about the importance of memory, historical truth, and the need for the recognition of the Genocide were also delivered by diaspora youth ambassador Ruzanna Grigoryan and active Armenian Unity youth organization member Patrícia Avetisyan.
Thank you to everyone who stood with us on this important day. We remember and we demand.
